About Mac the Antique Plumber

When Leon D. "Mac" McIntire left his business to his son Bryan "Mac" McIntire he knew that he was leaving it in good hands, though he may have underestimated Bryan's ambition. Leon McIntire had been a pioneer in the field of locating, salvaging, and restoring antique plumbing fixtures. However, with a dwindling supply (though MAC the Antique Plumber still has one of the largest selections in the nation) of originals, Bryan set his sights on creating private brand, plumbing and hardware fixtures. All are visually authentic reproductions of the most timeless designs from the early days of indoor plumbing with the modern mechanical inner workings of today.

One of many such authentic plumbing items is MAC's Porcelain Beaded Pill Box Toilet Set shown here. Several months of research and development led to the availability of this modern, properly functioning replica, studied and copied down to the very last detail.

When creating a home interior that is true to the period, it would be incomplete without the proper lighting fixtures and other hardware that was popular at the time. In order to facilitate the creation of such exacting authenticity, MAC's showroom also stocks one of the largest selections of original and reproduction lighting and house hardware collections. Their new showroom, in fact, relies solely on antique and reproduction lighting fixtures for its illumination.

So where has MAC the Antique Plumber come in the past fifteen years? Starting from his father's 9'x 9' garage room to their smart new 2,700 square foot showroom that manages, among other things: antique and reproduction plumbing sales, antique and reproduction lighting and hardware sales, catalog mail order sales, complete repair and restoration facilities, and an extensive parts inventory.

All this, under one very organized roof at 6325 Elvas Avenue (off 65th Street, north of Hwy 50) here in Sacramento. Bryan, his wife Suzanne, and the entire experienced staff at MAC the Antique Plumber would be delighted to have you stop by their new "Home Showroom" to browse, and ask any relevant questions (for which they will have an answer!) and see how a vision for a successful business that exalts the designs of "days gone by," has been passed from a father to his son.
